Two men from New Brunswick, Jhon German-Suarez, 24, and Wendis Rodriguez-Quiles, 31, were apprehended in the Bronx, New York. Their arrests were the result of a coordinated effort involving multiple law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Marshals. Both men were charged in connection with the murder of Lorenzo Hill Staten.
Jhon German-Suarez faced charges of first-degree murder and second-degree possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose. Wendis Rodriguez-Quiles was charged with first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, first-degree murder, and second-degree possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose. Following their capture in New York, they were held in custody pending extradition proceedings to face the charges against them in New Jersey. The investigation suggested a conspiracy between the two men to bring about the death of Lorenzo Hill Staten, culminating in the violent confrontation that ended his life.
