In a quiet Scotch Plains, New Jersey neighborhood, a tragic event unfolded in September 2014, cutting short the life of a gifted 11-year-old boy. Thomas Elberling, a male who was an internationally ranked chess player, was found deceased in his home on Jerusalem Road.
