In the early morning hours of September 20, 2019, tragedy struck in Paterson, New Jersey, forever altering the lives of a local family. Brian Taveras, a 20-year-old male, was discovered on Sandy Court with a fatal gunshot wound. The Paterson Police Department received reports of shots fired in the area at approximately 12:54 a.m. and rushed to the scene. Upon their arrival, they found Taveras lying on the ground, gravely injured.
