In the late hours of a Wednesday evening, the city of Newark was rattled by a burst of violence that claimed the life of Karod H. Tucker, a 36-year-old male from the neighboring township of Irvington. On January 27, 2016, at approximately 9:42 p.m., the piercing sound of gunfire shattered the night on the 900 block of Franklin Avenue, in the vicinity of the Stephen Crane Village housing complex. Responding to the call, Newark Police arrived at a grim scene.
