In the late hours of a Wednesday evening, the city of Newark was rattled by a burst of violence that claimed the life of Karod H. Tucker, a 36-year-old male from the neighboring township of Irvington. On January 27, 2016, at approximately 9:42 p.m., the piercing sound of gunfire shattered the night on the 900 block of Franklin Avenue, in the vicinity of the Stephen Crane Village housing complex.
