In the early morning hours of February 23, 2016, a burst of violence shattered the quiet of a Newark neighborhood, leaving a family and community to grapple with a sudden loss. On the 100 block of Manchester Place, 34-year-old Omar Heyward, a male resident of nearby Irvington, was found lying in the street, his body struck by multiple gunshots.
