On a grim Father's Day in Paulsboro, New Jersey, the life of 24-year-old John Gardner was cut short by gunfire. The fatal encounter unfolded just after 11 p.m. on June 19, 2016, in front of Gardner's home on Pine Street. Witnesses reported that a vehicle stopped in front of the residence, leading to a verbal altercation between Gardner and the occupant or occupants. The dispute escalated tragically, and Gardner was shot multiple times.
