On a spring afternoon in Paulsboro, New Jersey, the lives of two young men were tragically cut short in an act of violence. Aaron L. Owens, a 28-year-old male from Camden City, was killed on Saturday, May 8, 2021, in a shooting that also claimed the life of 25-year-old Cory R. Bunch, also of Camden City. The incident unfolded around 4:21 p.m. in the vicinity of West Adams and Delaware Streets, where officers from the Paulsboro Police Department were dispatched following reports of multiple
individuals with gunshot wounds.
Upon their arrival, law enforcement discovered the two deceased men at the scene. A short distance away, a third male was found inside a vehicle, suffering from critical gunshot injuries. He was promptly transported to Cooper Hospital in Camden for medical attention. The day after the shooting, the Gloucester County Medical Examiner's Office conducted autopsies and determined that both Owens and Bunch had died from gunshot wounds, ruling their deaths as homicides.
In the wake of the double homicide, the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office, in conjunction with the Paulsboro Police Department, launched an active and ongoing investigation into the killings. Believing that there were additional witnesses who could provide crucial information, detectives have publicly urged anyone with knowledge of the crime to come forward. Despite these appeals for information, as of now, no suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been announced in connection with the deaths of Aaron Owens and Cory Bunch, leaving their families and community still awaiting answers.
