In the early morning hours of September 11, 2016, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet at a Shell gas station in Trenton, New Jersey, leaving two young men dead and another critically injured. One of the victims was Kordrese Robinson, a 21-year-old Black male from Trenton. The shooting, which occurred at the intersection of Greenwood Avenue and Chambers Street, also claimed the life of 16-year-old Jahday Twisdale.
A third individual, a 19-year-old man, was also shot but survived his injuries.
According to reports, law enforcement was alerted to the violence at approximately 3:20 a.m. and arrived to find Robinson and Twisdale in the gas station's parking lot. Both men had sustained gunshot wounds to the head and were pronounced dead at the scene. The third victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Investigators determined that Robinson and Twisdale were acquaintances.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into the double homicide. Despite their efforts and appeals to the public for information, no arrests were made in the days and weeks that followed. The case has since grown cold, with no publicly identified suspects or motives for the deadly shooting.
