In the late hours of a February night in Atlantic City, New Jersey, the life of 23-year-old Carl A. Simpson II was abruptly cut short. On February 19, 2017, at approximately 9:45 p.m., in the vicinity of New Jersey and Oriental avenues, a violent encounter left Simpson with fatal gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus, but his injuries proved too severe, and he was pronounced dead.
