On a Friday afternoon, March 31, 2017, in Newark, New Jersey, 16-year-old Malik Bullock, a male, was fatally shot. The incident occurred in the 400 block of Hawthorne Avenue shortly before 3 p.m. When law enforcement arrived, they found two teenagers with gunshot wounds. Bullock was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, a 17-year-old, was taken to a hospital and was in stable condition. Bullock was a junior at the Barringer Academy of the Arts and Humanities.
