In the spring of 2017, a sense of hope was budding in the life of 22-year-old Manei Glover, a Black female from Trenton, New Jersey. Known to her loved ones as Nia, she was actively working to turn her life around, studying to become a nursing assistant and looking forward to the birth of her child. She had been living in Philadelphia but frequently returned to her hometown, maintaining close bonds with her family.
