In the late morning hours of a summer day in Camden, New Jersey, the life of David Wells III, a 29-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short. On July 21, 2017, at approximately 10:52 a.m., authorities received 911 calls reporting a man had been shot on the 300 block of Fountain Street in the East Camden neighborhood. Upon their arrival, police discovered Wells suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
