In the late summer of 2017, the city of Trenton was contending with a series of violent acts that would ultimately contribute to a high annual homicide count. Among the lives lost during this period was that of Kyronne Hazel, a 35-year-old Black male. On Thursday, August 10, 2017, Hazel was fatally shot in an incident that added his name to the city's growing list of homicide victims.
