In the early morning hours of September 23, 2017, the life of 39-year-old Farad Green, a male resident of Newark, New Jersey, was cut short by gunfire. Police responded to reports of shots fired in the 400 block of Hawthorne Avenue in the city's South Ward shortly before 12:30 a.m. Upon searching the area, they discovered Green unconscious and unresponsive inside a local eatery. Medics were called to the scene, but it was too late; he was pronounced dead from gunshot wounds.
