In the fading light of an autumn evening in Newark, New Jersey, a violent act shattered the community. On October 8, 2017, 33-year-old Stefan Tinsley, a Black male from East Orange, was found inside a vehicle on Turner Boulevard, the victim of a fatal shooting. Alongside him was another man, 26-year-old Yasin Calloway of Newark, who had also been killed by gunfire. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene, leaving behind a wake of questions and grief for their families and friends.
