On a Sunday afternoon in Orange, New Jersey, what should have been a peaceful Mother's Day turned into a scene of violence that claimed the life of 32-year-old Raymond C. White. On May 13, 2018, at approximately 1:13 p.m., gunfire erupted in the 100 block of Oakwood Place, leaving White with a gunshot wound to the chest. Emergency services rushed the East Orange resident to University Hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead at 10:06 p.m. that evening.
