In the early evening of September 30, 2020, a gathering of men on the 200-block of Oakwood Place in Orange, New Jersey, was shattered by gunfire. The sudden violence left three men wounded and the community in shock. Among the victims was Rahjah Robinson, a 30-year-old Black / African American man from Orange. First responders rushed all three victims to University Hospital in Newark for treatment.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Rahjah Robinson succumbed to his injuries and
was pronounced dead at 9:10 p.m. that same evening. The incident, which is being investigated as a triple shooting, left one man dead and two others injured. The Essex County Prosecutor's Office, in conjunction with the Orange Police Department, is leading the ongoing and active investigation into the shooting.
To date, no arrests have been made in connection with the murder of Rahjah Robinson, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects. Law enforcement officials have appealed to the public for any information that might lead to an arrest, urging anyone with knowledge of the crime to contact the Essex County Prosecutor's Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force tips line. The case remains unsolved, and the search for those responsible continues.
