On August 20, 2022, in Loachapoka, Alabama, 23-year-old Elisha Leon Benjamin was fatally shot during a domestic dispute. The incident occurred at a residence on Lee County Road 620 around 11:30 PM. Responding deputies from the Lee County Sheriff's Office discovered Benjamin deceased from a gunshot wound.
