In the early hours of a Monday in Orange, New Jersey, a young man's life was cut short by a sudden act of violence. Neil Myers, a 23-year-old male from the neighboring town of Irvington, was riding his motorcycle when gunfire erupted in the vicinity of 360 Park Avenue. The incident, which occurred around 12:30 a.m. on May 29, 2018, prompted a swift response from local police.
Upon their arrival at the scene, officers discovered Myers unconscious and suffering from a single gunshot wound
to his abdomen. Emergency personnel rushed him to University Hospital in Newark in an effort to save his life. Despite their efforts, Neil Myers was pronounced dead at 12:55 a.m., just moments after the shooting.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office has taken charge of the homicide investigation.
