On the morning of September 1, 2018, police responded to a call at approximately 8:05 a.m. regarding an unresponsive male in a vehicle at the intersection of Morris and Commonwealth avenues in Trenton, New Jersey. Upon arrival, they found 34-year-old Eric Rue inside the car, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the lower part of his body. The male victim, a resident of Bensalem, Pennsylvania, was rushed to St. Francis Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
