On July 12, 2024, in Trenton, New Jersey, 27-year-old Yoni Emanuel Cruz-Rodriguez tragically lost his life while attempting to protect his children during an alleged carjacking. According to authorities, Cruz-Rodriguez was standing at the rear of his vehicle when a 17-year-old suspect entered and attempted to drive away with his two children, aged 3 years and 2 months, inside.
