In the early hours of a Monday morning in Trenton, New Jersey, the life of 18-year-old Tayvion Jones was tragically cut short. On May 18, 2020, police responded to a ShotSpotter activation for a shooting in the first block of Oakland Avenue at approximately 12:30 a.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered the young man in the kitchen of his own home, suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.
