In the early morning hours of a Saturday in Newark, New Jersey, tragedy struck on the 100-block of Avon Avenue. Larry Oliver, a 38-year-old man, was shot on September 19, 2020. The incident occurred around 12:50 a.m., prompting a police investigation. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Oliver severely injured, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his face, chest, and leg. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:06 a.m.
