In the autumn of 2017, the life of Emary Holland, a 33-year-old Black / African American man from Newark, New Jersey, was tragically cut short. On the evening of October 28th, Holland was discovered in the area of 17th Street and 15th Avenue, the victim of a violent encounter. An investigation into his death would reveal that he had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, leading authorities to classify the case as a homicide.
