In the evening hours of December 1, 2020, a burst of gunfire shattered the night in New Brunswick, New Jersey, claiming the life of 20-year-old Dawson Bey. A Black male from the nearby community of Bound Brook, Bey was found with gunshot wounds near the intersection of Suydam Street and Throop Avenue. The call came in to the New Brunswick Police Department at approximately 8:13 p.m., and upon arrival, officers discovered the gravely injured young man.
