On the night of November 30, 2023, a burst of gunfire shattered the evening calm outside a bar in New Brunswick, New Jersey, leaving a young man's life cut tragically short. Enger Abreu, a 19-year-old male resident of New Brunswick, was fatally wounded in the shooting that occurred at approximately 11:10 p.m. near La Famosa Bar & Liquor on Remsen Avenue.
When police responded to the scene, they discovered a chaotic situation with two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
Abreu was one of these men, and he was rushed to a local hospital for medical attention. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. A third male victim was later located at a nearby residence and was also transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
