In the winter of 2021, a distressing event unfolded within the city of Trenton, New Jersey, culminating in the death of a 60-year-old man named Lovelle Laramore. On the morning of Thursday, February 25th, authorities were called to a residence on Home Avenue where they discovered Laramore deceased inside his home. The cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound to the head.
The investigation into the homicide was conducted by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force.
Their efforts led them to identify a suspect in the case. The individual taken into custody was the victim's great-nephew, 23-year-old Davon Marecheau of Maple Shade. Investigators alleged that Marecheau had shot his great-uncle in the head.
Further investigation revealed that on February 24th, the day before Laramore's body was discovered, Marecheau was captured on surveillance footage leaving his great-uncle's residence around the time that the gunshots were believed to have been fired. A search of Marecheau's apartment subsequently uncovered thousands of dollars that had been stolen from Laramore's home.
Following his arrest, Davon Marecheau was charged with murder, theft, and weapons offenses. He was then held at the Mercer County Correction Center as he awaited a detention hearing.
