In the afternoon hours of a fall day in Irvington, New Jersey, a young man's life was cut short by violence. Jarod Rogers, a 22-year-old Black / African American male, was discovered lying on a sidewalk along Madison Avenue on Saturday, October 2, 2021. The Irvington Police Department responded to a report of a man down shortly after 3 p.m. and found Rogers with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:33 p.m.
