In the early hours of Sunday, May 15, 2022, a 36-year-old man of Guyanese descent, Curt Johnson, was fatally shot in Irvington, New Jersey. The incident occurred around 3:22 a.m. in the vicinity of Prospect Street and Nesbit Terrace. Irvington Police officers responded to reports of gunfire and discovered Johnson at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at 3:58 a.m. At the time of his death, Johnson was a resident of East Orange.
