On the evening of April 18, 2022, 28-year-old Alicia Stilley of Cinnaminson, New Jersey, was found dead in the parking lot of the Hot Wet & Wax self-serve car wash in Palmyra. Police were dispatched to the scene on Filmore Street around 10:45 p.m. after receiving a report of an unconscious and bleeding woman. Upon their arrival, they discovered Stilley on the ground near her vehicle. She had been fatally shot. An autopsy later confirmed that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest.

The investigation into her death quickly focused on her former boyfriend, Antonio Burke. A week after the shooting, Burke was located and apprehended in Dallas, Texas, following a traffic stop. He was subsequently charged with murder, possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and endangering an injured victim. According to reports, a family member informed investigators that there was a history of domestic violence between Burke and Stilley, and that Burke had previously threatened her with a gun. In his statement to investigators, Burke claimed that Stilley had been 'playing with' his gun and it discharged accidentally when he tried to take it from her.

Ultimately, Antonio Burke pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated manslaughter. In October 2025, a judge sentenced him to 21 years in state prison for the killing of Alicia Stilley. The case was investigated by the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office and the Palmyra Police Department.
