Alexander C Mayo

On July 18, 2013, 19-year-old Alexander C. Mayo was tragically shot and killed in Chicago’s Lawndale neighborhood. Mayo, an Oak Park resident, was walking near the 1300 block of South Lawndale Avenue when he was shot in the chest. The incident occurred in the afternoon, a time of day that is often seen as less prone to such violence. Despite efforts by emergency responders to save him, Mayo was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital.
