In the midst of Fourth of July celebrations in Newark, New Jersey, a burst of violence cut a man's life short. Raakin J. Brown, a 39-year-old resident of the city, was found with gunshot wounds on the 100 block of Irvine Turner Boulevard on Monday, July 4, 2022. The call reporting the shooting came in at approximately 12:35 p.m., bringing officers to the scene behind an apartment complex where they discovered the gravely injured male.
