In the early moments of a Saturday, just after midnight on July 23, 2022, the life of 31-year-old Tameel Grimes was tragically cut short on the 300 block of New Street in Newark, New Jersey. Newark police officers discovered Grimes at approximately 12:22 a.m., having sustained a fatal gunshot wound. Despite the immediate response, he was pronounced dead at the scene less than thirty minutes later.
