In the summer of 2017, the life of a young Newark, New Jersey man was tragically cut short. Ibn Abdul-Malik C. Shakur-Walker, an 18-year-old Black / African American male, died on July 30, 2017. His death was the result of gun violence, a fact that has been noted in several online memorials and tributes created in his memory.
