Jomar Rodriguez Acevedo, a 29-year-old Hispanic male, found his life tragically cut short in a wave of violence that swept through Trenton, New Jersey. On the evening of November 16, 2022, police were called to Hewitt Street in the Chambersburg section of the city, responding to a report of a shooting. The initial scene revealed one man with a gunshot wound to his hand.
The grim reality of the night's events unfolded further when officers learned that two other gunshot victims had been
taken to St. Francis Medical Center. One of these men was Jomar Rodriguez Acevedo. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and, despite medical efforts, was pronounced dead at the hospital. A third man was also treated for a gunshot wound to his leg.
Investigators from the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department began to piece together the events of that violent evening. Preliminary findings suggested that the shooting was the result of a home invasion. As the investigation continues, no arrests have been made in connection with the death of Jomar Rodriguez Acevedo, leaving a community to mourn and await justice.
