In the crisp autumn of 1907, a dedicated officer of the Detroit Police Department, George Henry Wilson, a 43-year-old white male, patrolled the city streets as he had for 17 years. On the evening of Monday, November 11th, his watch led him to the intersection of St. Antoine and Champlain Streets, where he encountered four men.
