George Henry Wilson, a 43-year-old police officer with the Detroit Police Department, tragically died on November 11, 1907, after being shot while on duty. Officer Wilson had served with the department for 17 years and was well-respected in the community. On the night of the incident, he was questioning four men near the intersection of St. Antoine Street and Champlain Street. As he was escorting the men to a nearby call box, one of them suddenly pulled out a gun and shot him three times.
