On a winter day in Detroit, Michigan, the life of 32-year-old Black soul singer Darrell Eubanks Banks was brought to an abrupt and violent end. On February 24, 1970, Banks was fatally shot by an off-duty police officer named Aaron Bullock. The tragic event unfolded as a personal dispute escalated into a fatal confrontation.
