Courtney M. Meeks, a 24-year-old security guard, tragically lost his life on February 26, 2014, in Detroit, Michigan. Meeks was working at a CVS store when he was fatally shot while attempting to intervene in a carjacking incident. The incident occurred when three armed individuals, Jeremy Vincell Jackson, Ronnie Alsonzo Anderson-Williams, and Jamare Lanell Rucker, attempted to rob a female victim of her purse and car keys.
