Obie Wynn, an 18-year-old from Detroit, Michigan, was fatally shot on July 28, 1975, during a racially charged incident that escalated into what is known as the Livernois–Fenkell riot. The incident began when Andrew Chinarian, the 39-year-old owner of Bolton's Bar, observed Wynn and two other black youths allegedly tampering with his car in the bar's parking lot.
