Edward R. Siwik, a 19-year-old student at the University of Michigan, tragically lost his life on April 18, 1981, in a shocking incident at Bursley Hall, a dormitory on the university's north campus. The events unfolded early in the morning when a firebomb was thrown in a sixth-floor hallway, triggering the fire alarm and causing students to enter the hallway.
