Douglas C. McGreaham, a 21-year-old honors student at the University of Michigan, tragically lost his life on April 18, 1981, in a shocking incident at Bursley Hall, a university dormitory in Ann Arbor, Michigan. McGreaham, originally from Caspian, Michigan, was one of two students killed by gunfire in what became known as the Bursley Hall shooting.
