Herbert Cleaves, aged 27, tragically lost his life on February 18, 2001, in Flint, Michigan. The incident occurred when two vehicles stopped in front of a Flint home early that Sunday and opened fire, striking Cleaves in the abdomen. He was rushed to a local hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after. The motive behind the shooting appeared to be a grudge held against a companion of Cleaves, rather than Cleaves himself.
