In the early morning hours of February 26, 2021, the life of 30-year-old Antonio Smith was tragically cut short in Flint, Michigan. Known affectionately as 'Tony' or 'Tone' by his loved ones, he was discovered shot to death inside his vehicle, which had crashed into a light pole at the intersection of Minnesota and Bennett Avenues on the city's northeast side.
The call came in to authorities at approximately 1:45 a.m., forever altering the lives of his family.
Described as an energetic and outgoing man, Antonio was a father who was reportedly preparing for his daughter's birthday party the day before his life was taken. His family remembers him as a lover of music, so much so that the sound of loud music in the streets still brings him to their minds. He left behind his children, parents, and numerous siblings who continue to grapple with the sudden and violent loss.
In the years following Antonio's death, his murder remains unsolved, and no arrests have been made. His family has publicly expressed their pain and the difficulty of living without answers or closure. They continue to hope that someone will come forward with information that could lead to an arrest.
