In the quiet community of Okemos, Michigan, a domestic dispute escalated into a tragedy that ended the life of 61-year-old Catherine Holmes on October 20, 2006. The events unfolded in the public eye, within the parking lot of the Michigan State University Federal Credit Union, a place of daily errands turned into a crime scene. It was here that Catherine was fatally shot while seated in her car, the sounds of a preceding argument and subsequent gunshots alerting nearby customers.
