In the winter of 2006, a Detroit home that should have been filled with holiday preparations became the scene of a heart-wrenching tragedy. Nelda Grant, a 51-year-old female, was a dedicated teacher at a charter school. Those who knew her and her 22-year-old daughter, Rachel Johnson, described them as kind and giving individuals.
