A dispute at an Ypsilanti Township auto repair shop on a Thursday in July of 2014 ended in a tragic murder-suicide, leaving 46-year-old Robert David Richmond, a male, dead from multiple stab wounds. The violent encounter unfolded in the afternoon at the automotive business, culminating in the death of both Richmond and his attacker.
According to the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to the auto shop for a report of a stabbing.
Upon their arrival, they discovered Richmond, who had been critically injured. He was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
