Marquis Deon Townsend, a 28-year-old resident of Grand Rapids, Michigan, tragically lost his life on December 27, 2020. The incident occurred in the evening when the Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD) responded to reports of gunshots in the area of Franklin Avenue and Dolbee Street SE. Upon arrival, officers discovered Townsend with a gunshot wound in front of a house on Thomas Street SE. Despite their efforts to save his life, Townsend succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
