Mary Spears, a 27-year-old woman from Detroit, Michigan, tragically lost her life on October 5, 2014. The incident occurred at a hall on Detroit's east side, where Spears was attending a memorial celebration for a family member. During the event, she was approached by a 38-year-old man, Mark Dorch, who made unwanted advances towards her. Spears rejected his advances, which led to a confrontation.
