In the early morning hours of May 31, 2015, the life of Antonio Maurice Johnson Sr., a 45-year-old Black male from Flint, Michigan, was tragically cut short. Flint police were dispatched to an apartment in the 3300 block of Buick following a report of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they discovered Johnson on the ground, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
He was rushed to Hurley Medical Center in a desperate attempt to save his life, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
Known to some as 'Harry,' Antonio was born in Flint on October 8, 1969, and was a product of the Flint Community Schools. He was a father and a man who was said to have loved being with his family. He was also known for his sense of fashion and his passion for sports, which were evident from a young age. One of his proudest achievements was the opening of his clothing store, Top Notch Clothing.
Following his death, an investigation into the homicide was launched by the Flint police. Funeral services were held on June 8, 2015, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and he was laid to rest at Lovedale Memorial Cemetery in Burton, Michigan. While the investigation into his murder was initiated, publicly available information regarding any arrests made or suspects identified in connection with his shooting remains limited. His death was a stark reminder of the violent crime that affected the city of Flint during that time.
