In the summer of 2015, a life was tragically cut short in Flint, Michigan, when Orlando Thigpen, a 37-year-old Black man, was fatally shot. The incident, which occurred on August 10, stemmed from an argument that escalated to violence outside a Lakeside Apartment complex. Thigpen suffered a gunshot wound to his upper chest and was rushed to Hurley Medical Center, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
